Beschrijving

The book presents a series of lively and provocative lectures on the forty-two Buddhist sutras, delivered by Osho in August 1976. Drawing from the Hinayana, Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions, Osho interprets the sutras with his characteristic mix of humour, insight and radical challenge to conventional spirituality.

In the middle section, the author focuses on core themes such as awareness, non-attachment, sexuality, death, meditation and the boundary between discipline and freedom. He invites readers (or listeners) to leave behind mere belief systems and to engage with direct experience of being awake. Throughout, the tone is direct, often confrontational, questioning accepted dogmas and asking the reader to “wake up” rather than to believe.

Finally, the volume is part of the “Buddha Series” published by the Osho International Foundation, designed to bring Eastern spiritual insights into fresh, contemporary language. It welcomes both seasoned spiritual seekers and curious newcomers, offering a blend of traditional Buddhist roots with a modern, free-flowing approach to meditation and transcendence.
